Farah’s Story:
When Farah's mother was pregnant with Farah's middle sister, her father abandoned them. Desperate for a job to support her toddler and child on the way, Farah's mother started working for a man as a housekeeper. Shortly after Farah's sister came along, the man began abusing Farah's mother. After Farah's baby sister was born the man began abusing Farah as well. Again in a desperate situation, Farah's mother left the man for the streets. While sleeping on the floor of neighbor's homes, she heard about Espwa. She begged Espwa for some assistance. Not only was Espwa able to take Farah to care for her and keep her away from an abusive situation, a generous donor has provided Farah's mother with rent for a year in a house close to Espwa so Farah can see her mother and sisters every day.
Farah is in kindergarten and loves playing make believe with the other girls. She will never turn down posing for a picture, and wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
